1. How would you describe your personal style?
It’s usually a casual, laid-back chic – my style is almost entirely dependant on my mood and it’s not unusual for me to go from wearing chunky platforms one day to Timberland boots the next.
2. What's your go-to piece?
My black Wilfred Diderot sweater from Aritzia in Toronto. Look it up and you’ll understand why – you can do just about anything with it.
3. Where is your favorite place to shop?
I don’t really have a single favorite place to shop. Some of the coolest pieces I own are from vintage stores and others are from sample sales so they don’t even have a tag. I just love to shop, anywhere and everywhere.
4. What item are you most likely to splurge on?
A good jacket or a kick-ass pair of heels. I like to splurge on things that I know will go the distance.
5. Fashion mantra or style rules you abide by?
It’s all in the details.
6. Who’s your style inspiration?
I’ve always admired the Olsen twins, Erin Wasson, and Rihanna. The Olsens have an impeccable sense of style and are fantastic designers. Erin Wasson has this effortless chic thing that is just so cool. Finally, there’s Rihanna – I can’t think of any other woman who can show up to an awards show in jeans and a tank and STILL look like a million bucks.
7. What’s your next fashion must-have?
I’ve got my eye on the Rebecca Minkoff M.A.B Leather tote in black – I’m in need of a great everyday bag and her stuff rocks.
8. What’s your biggest style pet peeve?
When people are obviously uncomfortable in their own skin. When it comes to clothes, you should be wearing THEM, not the other way around.
9. A piece of styling advice for winter dressing in Southern California?
Layer it up – the weather out here doesn’t make much sense in the winter. You can be lounging in the sun all day but come sunset, it starts to cool down pretty quickly. Jackets, flannels, scarves – they’re all great ideas this time of year!
